Rees Bolter Architects
Practice Profile

The practice was founded in 1989. The range of building types encompasses churches, park and parkland buildings, walled gardens, ruins, large and small houses, visitor centres, institutional buildings and a windmill.

We have experience of dealing with historic buildings from the medieval period right through to the late twentieth century and enjoy the challenges set by buildings with complex histories. We believe it important to integrate the evidence contained within the fabric of the buildings with the documentary evidence relating to the building and its uses; wherever possible we undertake this research work ourselves.

Jon Bolter is an accredited Conservation Architect and has been included on the AABC Register since its inception in 1999.

We work within a network of consultants from other disciplines and can readily access quantity surveying, landscape architecture, structural engineering, services engineering, principal designer, conservators, collections specialists and archaeological consultancy advice.

Historic buildings are owned by a wide variety of organisations and individuals. Our clients have included the National Trust; Friends Groups and Building Preservation Trusts; many local authorities; Anglican, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and other churches and the Churches Conservation Trust.
